After reading the story The Watsons Go to Birmingham, you will be making a story map using Google Drawing. You will need to be familiar with the characters, setting, and plot of the book.
There are three kinds of story maps that you could make. You get to decide which story map to make!
(1) Character Changes - Choose a character from the Watson family. Make a map showing how the character changes during the story. Describe the character at the beginning of the story. Find three events that changed the character during the story. Describe what the character is like at the end of the story.
(2) Character Reactions - Choose an important event from the story. Describe the who, what, when, where, and why of the event. Choose three different characters from the Watson family. Explain how each of the characters reacted to the event. Give examples of the character's thoughts, words, or actions that prove their reactions.
(3) Setting - Think about the different places the Watsons visited in the story and how each of these places affected the family. Choose four places the Watsons visited. Give specific details that support how each place affected the family for the better or for the worse. Give examples of the family's thoughts, words, or actions that prove these effects.
